About JOBST SCHMALENBACH

Hi,

I am originally from Muenster in north west Germany, where I completed a trade apprenticeship as a Fitter&Turner, then went on to study Mechanical Engineering while working for my father’s business which supplied all the internal furnishing & painting needs including tools for homes/businesses. Whilst studying I drove for a large trucking company throughout Europe and was a DJ for a number of years. Upon graduating with a B Eng I took a position as a mechanical engineer but I found the business and industry too restrictive.

I migrated to Australia in 1989 and switched to IT commencing a degree in Computer Science at Flinders University. I moved from Adelaide to Melbourne to continue my studies at Monash University completing a Bachelor of Digital Systems with First Class Honours. This was my niche becoming a highly knowledgable and proficient IT professional very familiar and hands on with both hardware and software.

I am a General Manager and the IT guy at Barrett Consulting, responsible for Systems Administration, web design and everything that has any connection with IT.
I makes things work.

I am also hands on with ClimateChange, #Equality and Integrity.

I was the IT person for March 4 Justice and one of the core founders. On the day before the 15th of March 2021 the server/hardware/software I was looking after had 1 million hits, it too had some serious attacks.

I also was the IT person and Geek for Zoe Daniel during the campaignto become the the Independent Member for Goldstein.

I am also involved with Voices of Tasmania, Chatty Cafe and after a hiatus of a couple of years back with March4Justice and to a small extend with Community Independent Project.
